| Ella Nettie Tinker (Davis) SOUTHWEST HARBOR- Ella Davis, 85, of Southwest Harbor, Maine, passed away peacefully Aug 31, 1993. She was born on Swan's Island March 13, 1908. The daughter of Harvey & Nettie McKay Tinker She was raised on Swan's island with four brothers and one sister. Harvey, James, Colon, Henry and Zulma. She was pre diceased by Harvey, James & Colon. She was married to Elmer Davis from Frenchboro in 1927. She is survived by 10 children, Freida Smith, wife of Wendell Smith, Rockport, Maine, Arlene Watson, wife of Andrew Watson, Southwest Harbor, Maine, Ramona Turner wife of Filmore Turner (Diceased), Southwest Harbor, Maine, Janet Ripley wife of Francis Ripley, Rockland, Maine, Raymond Davis & wife Nancy Reed Davis, Ellsworth, Maine, Margaret Parkhurst, Chelmsford, Mass, Robert Davis & wife Danielle Matchouffet Davis, Southwest Harbor, Maine, Juantia Twigg wife of Eric Twigg, Southwest Harbor, Joan Sholty, Peru, Indiana, & Maureen Meyer, Humble Texas. She was pre diseased by a daughter Dorothy Colbeth wife of Arthur Colbeth, Bass Harbor, Maine. She worked hard all her life, cleaning, baiting trawls, knitting pockets & heads, just about anything to make sure the family was fed and clothed and always received that special dream present at Christmas. Never once did she complain. Matter of fact, she loved the responsibility. I know, because I was her son. |
