In 1980 I spent my 18th birthay at a house on Swan's Island. The owner's name was Schwoebel. I know he sold the house years ago but I would love to find the house and see if it is available for rent this summer. Any info or ideas? Thank you. The Swan's Island Educational Society, (aka Library Board), is moving forward with plans to rebuild on the site of the old library that was destroyed by fire on July 24, 2008. Fundraising efforts are ongoing with a special benefit exhibition and art auction scheduled for August 26. Unique works of art by Noted Maine Artists have been created from scorched pages collected after the fire. The art auction will be held at Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. A preview of the art pieces was held on Swan's Island at the Odd Fellows Hall on August 16 |
