Does anyone have the words to the school song...I remember most but not all. I join others in thanking Harold Beal for his work on the Pow Wow. I love reading it.
I am going to try to write some memories for a future Pow Wow...Nancy Boyington Corliss Class of 1967.

I greatly appreciate your message. You are welcome to come see the finger any day. Another person this year from Florida came with his family to take a look at it . It was Don Foley - Don is an artist who has had his work in National Geographic and many top magazines. He will be doing the art work for Gores new book coming out this or next year. So you are not alone - just line up to see the world famous Tapley finger ! I have shown it from Maine to Texas!
I will be reissueing the book through Random House in July of next year. There of course will be more stories.
Feel free to emai me any time. Anny will relay your messages. Thank you for your kind words - Wendell

THIS IS FOR WENDELL SEAVEY, GOT THIS FROM BOB DAVIS, HE IS THE LANDLORD WHERE I LIVE IN RIVIERA BEACH, FL. I WAS READING YOUR BOOK, "WORKING THE SEA", WHEN I GOT TO THE PART WHERE YOU HAD CUT OFF THE END OF YOUR FINGER. YOU SAID TO COME TO SOUTHWEST HARBOR MAINE AND YOU WOULD SHOW IT TO ANYONE. HAD TO CONTACT BOB AND SEE IF HE KNEW YOU, HE GAVE ME THIS ADDRESS AND SAID THAT YOU WERE QUITE A FUNNY FELLOW. I CAN RELATE TO MOST OF THE THINGS IN YOUR STORY AS I AM A FEW YEARS YOUNGER THAN YOU. GROWING UP IN IOWA IT WAS QUITE A SITE TO SEE NAVY BLIMPS GOING SLOW AND LOW OVER THE CORN FIELDS. GOOD READ, BEST REGARDS, CHUCK STARK 1231 CABANA RD. RIVIERA BEACH, FL 33404

I really don't know how to respond to this new health thing. I just know we need a change . the insurance companies have taken advantage of us sick , retired, and poor people. between them & the pharmaceutical companies. The have strapped our savings and made us sicker, because they won't give us care for the things we need . I don't see a dentist, because we haven't been able to afford it, and we have no coverage under Medicare or our Insurance. Blue Cross Blue Shield. BCBS. says they won't pay for a lot of our health needs, because Medicare won't. What is the retired people going to do. I had a shock last Nov 2008. I'll need rehab and be under my doctors care for a long time, probably the rest of my life. Will this new President hurt or help me with my care & rehap. I really don't know. But I sure could use much more rehab & care. than I have been able to get so far.I know a lot of you don't like Oboma.  I voted for him because I did not want to see another President like George Bush was. He got us in this mess and war. He wanted to put our health care in the hands of the very people that robbed their employees of their life savings. Can you imagine the mess we would be into today if they had done that and we lost all our retirement and welfare. I know I would not be living today, because my husband & family could never have afforded it.We live from paycheck to paycheck every month. Who can save or put any aside for emergencies? the job market is bad, so don't think they would be hiring old people. and if they did they wouldn't give us insurance, because of our age. my husband had beasties "type two". How do they expect young mothers to go to school & work.,when they have babies at home and the day cares charge more than they make in a week. What are they to do?

God Bless America.we are in a struggle. each & every one of us Yes the Rich & the poor, the middle class too.
